Sound City announce showcases from Generator NI, POP Montreal, PRS Foundation, Horizons: New Music From Wales, Korea, French Music Bureau, DMF Digital and more
Generator NI is Northern Ireland’s music business support programme. We’re delighted to present a showcase of some of our most exciting talent at Liverpool Sound City this year. Featured on the line-up are Emerald Armada - a five piece fusion of traditional irish and folk rock sound; teen indie gang The Clameens – included on the Generator NI Talent Development programme alongside the Armada; and promising young act His New Atlas who writes songs to break hearts.

Horizons: New Music From Wales
Horizons is a scheme delivered by BBC Cymru Wales in partnership with Arts Council Wales to develop new, independent contemporary music in Wales. We work with 12 artists for 12 months, promoting them, giving industry advice and taking them to a whole host of live events in the UK and internationally. KOCCA, KCCUK and Korea Rocks!
Now a firm fixture in the annual Sound City calendar, we’re delighted to host the third Korea Rocks showcase with an incredible line up – which is this year being supported by KOCCA and KCCUK.
Through cultural and educational activities the KCCUK has gone from strength to strength in its role of enhancing friendship, amity and understanding between Korea and the UK. With a wide programme of film screenings/ talks, exhibitions, and interactive courses on a myriad of cultural subjects the KCCUK is the central hub for all things Korean in the UK.
KOCCA is a semi government agency under the umbrella of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, providing continuous support and encouragement to Korean content industry such as animations, character licensing, music, mobile content, games and broadcasting to enable their advance into the new creative economy and the broader world.

POP Montreal and Quebec Government Office
We are proud to present the first ever POP Montreal UK showcase! POP will head to the super-happening Liverpool Sound City, joined by some likewise super-happening Quebec based bands, thanks to the support of our friends over at the SODEC, FACTOR and the Quebec Delegation in London. We will be representing with local Master of Ceremony Socalled and the supernatural electronic duo Beat Market who just released their second single Sun Machine, off their upcoming album due out this September. We will also unleash the stage beast known as Ira Lee, who will re-emerge to perform under his new moniker, Forest in His Heart. To preview some of this new material, Forest In His Heart (ira lee) is launching today both a song and video entitled Here Comes The Wolves. France at Sound City 2015
This year’s French artists at Sound City are absolutely not to be missed – it’s a scintillating line up spanning an electrifying range of genres, presented by Bureau Export (the French music export office) and the Institut Français.
On the bill are the psychedelic pop of Aquaserge, featuring members of Tame Impala, Melody’s Echo Chamber and Stereolab; sparkling new wave-y pop from the glamorous Hollysiz; NLF3’s hooky, groove-driven post-rock; Gaspard Royant’s smart rockabilly and Brill Building licks; exotica-tinged folk-pop from Thousand and C.A.R’s charming and very personal take on influences ranging from post-punk, synth-pop and krautrock to disco.

Four of the incredibly talented artists to receive funding from PRS for Music Foundation and Arts Council England’s coveted Momentum Music Fund - All We Are, LoneLady, FEMME and Attaque - perform at the Momentum Showcase on the Cavern Stage, from 8pm on Saturday 23rd May. Launched in 2013, the Momentum Music Fund supports artists at a tipping point and helping them reach the next stage of their career. Find out more and see all the artists funded so far:

Digital is UK based record label developing talent for the new music industry. Managed by Darnall Music Factory (which opened in 1979), DMF Digital is a Yorkshire based record label and music industry development company. The organisation offers the music industry's next generation: artist and band development, international distribution and apprenticeship opportunities.
The organisation also supports the best new Yorkshire talent at UK and international events in partnership with Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and UK Trade and Investment (Yorkshire).

Your Housing Group is working with partners, Mode Training and Soul Inspired Events to put on a fantastic programme at Sound City which is by and for young people. Mode, a Liverpool based training company and Soul Inspired Events will work with a key group of young people and give them the chance to work with professionals and produce an afternoon programme of soul inspired local and regional, national music on Sunday 24th May on the Kracken Stage from 4-6pm
