Not only does he possess the manliest name since Chet Manly, Crispin Hunt has also been blessed with some serious songwriting talent. He likes to be a bit political and campaigns for artist and songwriter rights as an elected Director of PPL, PRS and as an advisor to the Intellectual Property Office, he’s a bit left of centre, and people like to get him into the studio to add a bit of intrigue and meaning to their music. A&R folk like him especially because he has a reputation for coming in to an energy-sapped studio and adding a bit of quality to those tracks that are just missing something special. You might even call him a Song Doctor. He established himself in the early nineties as the frontman of steel city Britpop band The Longpigs, alongside a bright-eyed Richard Hawley. Jumping forward in time, Crispin has an ever growing catalogue of impressive song writing credits including cuts with Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Maverick Sabre,Newton Faulkner, Lana Del Ray,Lisa Mitchell, Lissie, Josephine Oniyama,Luke Sital Singh and Jake Bugg, including the last single from his debut album, ‘Broken’. Crispin is currently in the studio producing and writing with the next wave of hotly tipped artists including Misty Miller, Rosie Carney, JP Cooper and Rory Butler.
