Starting out running a direct marketing agency, Stuart Worthington has remained an independent small business “owner-manager” for more than three decades. He now has over 25 years’ experience working in the music & media industries as a specialist provider of management consultancy and small business support plus professional training & development services for a range of clients and strategic partners, in territories & markets across five continents.
Specialising in the music industry, here in the UK Stuart has worked with both MMF (Music Managers Forum – since 1995 to date) & MPA (Music Publishers Association – since 2003 to date) to design, develop and deliver annual Professional Development Programmes in both Music & Artist Management and Music Publishing, aimed at and attended by personnel & practitioners ranging from new entrants to senior management and legal & financial professionals.
Stuart was made UK Head of Training & Education for the MMF in 1997, and in 2014 became Head of the new Training & Education Committee for the global umbrella organisation IMMF (International Music Managers Forum - servicing MMF chapter & network member national organisations in 22 countries).
Since 1989 to date Stuart has also continued to work with, and regularly moderate panels at industry events hosted by, an increasing range of industry export offices, trade associations & unions and collecting societies around the world - including the Federation of Entertainment Unions, BASCA, AIM and PRS for Music here in the UK.
