Anyone can set up a record label these days. Because of this it is hard to be seen and get your music where it needs to be. There is so much noise out there that it has become even more important that you have an eye for the holistic aesthetic. Think of the great British labels such as Factory, Domino, 4AD, Warp, Finders Keepers. With these labels the music is a part of the total package.
What lessons can be learned? Are we missing the point and is it all just about the music?
