Sound City is thrilled to welcome Mark E. Smith, lead singer and lyricist for post-punk band the Fall.

Mark has fascinating stories to share from his time in The Fall and has plenty of experiences from the notorious punk era. Mark formed the Fall with three friends at the age of 19. In 2005 he received the “Contribution to Music” award at the Diesel-U-Music awards. Often described as a genius, a legend and as a genuine post-punk original who has remained in touch with reality.

You might also recognise Smith from appearing as a guest vocalist for Gorillaz, Mouse on Mars, Edwyn Collins and many more. Smith appeared on Top of the Pops having contributed to Inspiral Carpets 1994 top 20 hit I Want You. Mark featured on Glitter Freeze- a track from the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach and recorded the World Cup song England’s Heartbeat.

We can’t wait to hear Mr.Smith’s incredibly exciting experiences as a manager, founder, talent scout, song-writer and performer and we’re sure you can’t either.
